Another Heartbreak
“Hey! Have you seen him ?”, she said to Amanda. She remained quiet. Then she said to Alice, “Haven’t you heard the news ?”. “What news !”. “Brandon has passed away”. She felt a cold shock within her. Then she asked herself, “ Where am I ? Is it even real ?”. Then she went inside the school and thought that Amanda must be joking with her. There was no one inside the school. When she went inside her classroom, she saw Brandon waiting for her in the same particular seat where they introduced themselves. She looked at him and asked angrily, “Brandon! What the hell ! Why haven’t you returned my calls? I had sent you so many voice messages. Have you ever heard any one of those ?”. He remained quiet and let her release all her anger and worries. After a few moments, he replied, “Alice! I am sorry I couldn’t return your calls and messages. Would you forgive me for that ?”. She answered negatively. Then Brandon went up to her and said, “Alice ! I am sorry to disappoint you, but if you can’t forgive me now, we might not get another chance”. She heard him. But she couldn’t believe her ears. Then she asked him, “Why Brandon ?”. Brandon looked at her eyes with a grin and hold her hand, and said to her, “ Come on ! let’s go somewhere else and talk”. They went to the backyard of the school where they first kissed each other. There Brandon plucked a flower and said to her, “Look at this flower Alice. Although I plucked this flower from the tree, it’s still alive. It will die eventually but it’s in pain now. When it will die, it will be at peace. But the truth is the flower will die. Now look at the tree, the tree knows that this flower has been plucked from it but the tree could do nothing except one thing, i.e, to remain happy with the flowers those are left.” Alice felt a strange feeling from these words and asked him, “Brandon are you okay?”. Brandon said, “Alice! my time has come, but I know that you will make peace with it and move on because you are just like this tree. So, I am happy that I have got you in my life”. Alice’s heart filled with pain and anger. She hugged him as tightly as she could and cried as hard as her voice went up. Brandon also hugged her and said, “Alice its time to go”. Ignoring his words Alice remained as she was and cried. Hearing her loud voice other students kept searching for Alice. As soon as Amanda found her, Brandon disappeared.
